I was a born a son of the sea

As I watch the breakers roll in on the beach

I'll set my sights on shores I've never seen!

But I'm unafraid to face the things within

Knowin' that one day this all will end

Sometimes the sailin's fine.

You can climb on the wind

with a nice taut line

and, oh, the day

will bring you peace of mind.

When the day is warm

and the wind is right

you can sail out beyond

the edge of sight

and never feel the call to look behind.

When you've faced the wind

and you've faced the sea

and you know you're the best

that you can be

by the grace of God

or the strength of your own mind.

Then you'll find some things

don't mean so much

when all that is real is what you touch

Life takes on the essence of devine.
