9月25日 The QuestionThis is the poem that I had set out to find when I was doing my Autumn set of poems and music. I guess the ol' memory is getting faulty.... this is actually a winter poem..... but I still like it a lot.... makes me tear up a little when I read it.
February's nigh
and...
Oh, the sky
last night
so full of stars.
So cold and far
from where I stood.
It did me good ,
inside ya know,
to go outside
to see them.
They sparkled like...
well like
fairy lights
down by the bog
in late July
where dog and I,
we tried to see
the fairys dance
like papa said
they would be.
And....
oh! I think
I'd just begun
to ask you, if,
when chores are done,
you'd like to, maybe,
take a walk
and talk
about us, you and I
cause time's a passin',
by and by
an' February's nigh.
